Good morning and welcome back to Field Notes.
Today we have a photo-heavy dispatch from South Africa (sent once I was firmly back on home soil).
Earlier this month I had the great privilege of going to South Africa and cruising around Kruger National Park in the back of an open-air Land Cruiser.
The list of animals we saw included lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, a leopard, waterbucks, kudus, rhinos, impalas, hippos, warthogs, hyenas and more.
One thing that stood out to me, among many, was the sheer number of animals that roamed the same place. Quite remarkable.
Below are some of my favourite photos from the safari, taken by myself and my talented wife Claire.
I didn’t take my camera charger (rookie mistake) and therefore not all of the animals mentioned are pictured below. It died on the fourth of five drives.
